Even More Changes

Changes to JLPT Boot Camp

The new JLPT Boot Camp offices (yeah, right)

I’m really excited. I’m absolutely floored actually.

I already told you how much the site has grown and continues to grow, which is amazing to me.

Many people have emailed me to say they are looking for something a little more though. And, although there are a lot of great materials out there available for the JLPT. I feel like there are few things that are lacking from a lot of them.

Because of this, I wanted to start something a little extra special here on JLPT Boot Camp for those that wanted to get the most out of their learning and pass the JLPT in less time. I wanted to be able to share some of the secrets and not-so-secret stuff that I’m doing to study in one online resource.

I had a problem though.

It has been an incredibly busy year for me that just seems to keep on getting busier and busier. Not only am I studying for the N1; I’m raising a beautiful 4 month old, and trying my best to keep up with the mayhem of keeping a blog.

So, I was always a bit torn between what to do. And I also felt like I had a unique perspective on teaching and learning the language since I’ve been a language teacher for 8 years.

I needed a solution of some kind.

I sat down and thought about what I could offer the community that was different than the other offerings out there. I wanted to give you some help that was actionable and helped you to not only pass the JLPT, but also to use Japanese effortlessly. Something that made it more automatic.

So I sat down and wrote up the Ultimate JLPT Study Guide Kit. I wanted to make something that was all in one place and that you didn’t have to run around finding all the information that you needed. I thought it would be a short little guide, but it ended up being a healthy 121 pages long.

This is the very first edition of the book and as such it is available at a special introductory price. Getting the book now will allow you access to all future editions, which I’ll be rolling out on a regular basis.

Also, all charter members will get lifetime access to my new premium site that will be opening very soon. Although the site is little bare at the moment, I’ll be adding premium content to it on a regular basis.

I’ve just made the guide and premium site available a few weeks ago to newsletter subscribers, but now I’m open it up to everybody. I hope that this will be the guide that can help you master the test. If you are serious about passing the test, you should check out all the details about the kit.

Check out the details now.

Some Other Changes

The guide is just the beginning though. It is THE resource to get you started on your path to passing the JLPT. But, you need some of the nuts and bolts like grammar and vocabulary as well to get you all the way there.

So, I’ll be rolling out some grammar lessons on a regular basis. My podcast series on grammar from the different levels was extremely popular and I wanted to continue those with a little something more. I’ll be putting together some lessons that will walk you through the grammar points for each level (starting with N5).

Videos of the grammar explanations will be available on a special YouTube channel dedicated to the level. Additional content like example test questions, common mistakes, and cheat sheets will be available as premium content for those that want more practice.

Because I’ll be doing a little extra work, I’ll unfortunately be reducing the amount of podcasts I do a month from 4 to 2. This should give me some time to prepare great grammar lessons for you. The podcasts will become a little more concentrated as well.

One episode a month will cover my current game plan and progress while the other podcast will cover more cultural insights of what it is like to live and work in Japan. This is something that has been heavily requested by my listeners so I’m happy to be able to concentrate more on that.

Overall, I’m excited about the changes because I get to do what I love to do with some of the greatest people in the world – Japanese language learners. I don’t know what it is, but everyone in this community is genuinely supportive and great to talk to. Thanks for commenting and reading the blog!

What do you Think?

I’d love to hear your feedback on this whole process. I tried hard to create something that is useful for everyone to learn from. Thanks again for reading and let me know your thoughts in the comments.

    Hi again 🙂

I was told that result of JLPT for people who took the exam outside Japan can be checked on https://www.jlpt-overseas.jp/onlineresults/top.html starting from 3 September! I believe there should be another website for Japan-examiners! 😀 Good luck!

    I can’t wait! \o/

      Kate,

I’m having some problems accessing that site, are you sure it is the right link? That would be pretty useful if you could check your results online. Usually they come out around September 9th, but the 3rd would be great!

It should be working in 7 days, so please wait a little bit longer 🙂

As of tomorrow, results should be on the JEES website for everyone who applied through it in Japan. 🙂 I’ll be so glad to finally know!!

Awesome! Great to hear that, I was regretting having to wait another week or two. Good to finally know.

Your website is a really great source of resources and inspiration to me and I appreciate all of your hard work, your encouragement and your advice.

I just purchased your Study Guide Kit and I can’t wait to read it, but I don’t seem to be able to access it. Is it something that has to be admin approved or a link sent via email? Hope I get to see it soon. 😀

Sorry Hilary! There is an email with a registration link that is sent out as well as an email that has an encrypted download link. I sent you the registration link again, let me know if you get it! I’ll be able to see when you sign up.
